Criminal charges filed after fatal accident

Streets that include parking on both sides are often difficult to navigate. When a driver is reckless, it makes matters that much worse. In June 2016, a fatal accident occurred in Texas that involved a woman who, according to witnesses, was speeding along a narrow road. The incident ended in tragedy.

Many times, even if a motorist is cautious behind the wheel, the negligent or reckless actions of another driver can cause sudden, unexpected devastation. That's what appears to have happened when this particular crash took place. Those who saw it unfold say the woman driving a blue truck had barrelled through two red lights before slamming into the back end of a vehicle stopped at a third. The speeding car reportedly hit the other car with such force, it caused immediate and fatal injuries to the 53-year-old woman in the driver's seat.

The impact of the initial collision also apparently caused the now-deceased woman's car to smash into another car in front of hers. All three vehicles careened across the intersection, finally stopping some 100 feet away from the point of impact. Two people who survived were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Learning that a loved one has been killed in a fatal accident is a tragic experience many Texas families have endured. In such situations, a wrongful death claim can be filed against the person deemed responsible for the collision. Successful claims often provide compensation to families that can help offset funeral costs and other monetary losses related to the incident.
