It appears that inside several Texas metropolitan hospitals, the task of managing and eliminating infections is proving to be very difficult. Although medical care is most definitely a field in which an emphasis on sanitary conditions comes with the territory, it still behooves everyone to remember the risks and dangers that can be associated with any hospital visit.
In an attempt to deal with rising rates of infection at hospitals, the Texas Department of State Health Service began keeping figures regarding the rates of infection at hospitals across the state. Those numbers point to several Texas gulf coast area hospitals that have shown high numbers of infections.
One man who developed an infection called pseudomonas at one of the hospitals has spent nearly two years and more than $100,000 dealing with the problem, which still persists. Clearly hospital infection is a problem to be taken very seriously. After all, if one cannot feel safe from disease in a hospital, where can he or she be safe?
It may take a thorough investigation to determine what went wrong at these Texas hospitals. No matter what the causes of the infection spikes were, this story serves to demonstrate just how many things can go wrong at a hospital. Errors on the part of medical professionals can often result in these types of infections. When these mistakes affect your life, or that of a loved one, then the medical professional responsible for those mistakes should be held accountable.
If you have suffered as a result of negligent actions that constitute medical malpractice, then it may be a good idea that you speak with an attorney who may be able to answer some of your questions regarding your rights.
