The death of a child is absolutely the worst possible scenario that can be faced by any parent. Even those of us who do not have our own children can imagine the extreme, lasting pain and heartache that situation would cause. Therefore, whenever we hear the tragic tale of a young child’s death, our hearts immediately pour out sympathy for the family.
Two young Texas parents are dealing with that unimaginable grief after the death of their 7-month-old baby in a tragic fatal accident.
The accident happened when two cars went through an intersection at the same time, setting them on a collision course. At the same time, a young father was crossing at the intersection, pushing his baby in a stroller. The impact of the collision caused the cars to hit the man and his baby, killing the baby instantly.
Now, police are trying to figure out why the accident happened. There was not a camera at the intersection, so police may need to seek the help of engineers to determine the traffic light pattern, and which car had the right of way.
The cellphone records of both drivers are also being examined to determine whether either of them was texting and driving or talking on the phone when the accident happened. A friend of the family said that they just want answers. They just want to know why their baby died.
It is unknown at this time whether charges will be filed or whether the family will initiate a wrongful death lawsuit. No matter the amount of compensation that could be recovered in a lawsuit, it can never assuage the long road of grief and recovery that the family has ahead of them.
