Products that people in Texas use every day may actually pose serious hazards for children. Several items have recently been recalled due to product defects. One defective product being recalled is a crib mobile, while another is a bean-bag chair.
The mobile that is being recalled is by Skip Hop Moonlight & Melodies. This mobile features a white arm that connects to a crib's side and has four leaves that glow and blink. The leaves have stuffed-animal attachments. According to the company, the strap that attaches the mobile to the rail of the crib can easily break and thus cause injury if it plummets onto an infant who is in the crib. The mobiles were sold between July and November of 2015 at stores such as Buy Buy Baby and Babies R Us.
Bean-bag chairs by Ace Bayou Corp. have also been recalled because their zippers must be repaired. Children can open the zippers and then crawl inside or become trapped and end up choking on the foam beads or suffocating. Two deaths of kids have been linked to these chairs, which were sold at stores such as Big Lots and Walmart between 1995 and 2013.
A defective product can easily cause a Texas individual to suffer severe injuries or even lose his or her life. A person who ends up injured as a result of a dangerous product may file a personal injury claim against the product manufacturer, while the loved ones of someone who dies after using a product can file a wrongful death claim. Through successfully fought claims, they may receive monies to offset the costs tied to the use of the dangerous product, such as funeral arrangements and medical fees as well as emotional distress-related remuneration.
