Among the many vehicles that share Texas roadways on a daily basis are chartered buses. Groups of people often enlist the services of a hired bus and driver when traveling on day trips or taking vacations. When one of these massive vehicles wrecks, it often results in a tragic fatal accident.
A 29-year-old man was released from the hospital in the aftermath of a recent charter bus tragedy. He was reportedly the driver of a chartered bus when it crashed on a highway where the speed limit was posted at 75 mph. Preliminary investigations apparently did not reach a conclusion as to why the bus overturned on the road. There were 52 occupants aboard the bus when it crashed.
Those riding the bus at the time of the terrible accident ranged in ages from 52 to 81. Sadly, seven of them died at the scene. Another passenger succumbed to his or her injuries after being transported to a local hospital.
Although, it may be difficult to imagine how one moves forward in life after suffering the untimely death of a loved one due fatal accident, many who have experienced such devastating situations have gone on to file wrongful death claims in Texas civil courts. Doing so can allow a grieving family member, such as a spouse, parent or adult child, to request that the court hold those responsible for a death legally accountable for their negligence. A personal injury lawyer often helps those who wish to file claims determine the maximum amount of compensation to which they may entitled in successfully litigated cases.
