Each day on a Texas road brings the possibility of a serious car accident. A fatal accident will have lasting effects not just for the driver who caused the collision but also for the families of the victims. Two people are dead after a recent nighttime accident on State Highway 29.
The Department of Public Safety reports that the driver of a pickup truck pulled out of the parking lot of a convenience store onto the highway and hit three vehicles traveling along the roadway. He crossed the center lane and went against traffic, hitting two other pickup trucks before he stopped. The driver and passenger in one of those trucks both died as a result of the collision.
Although the exact number was not given, the report stated several people involved in the crash were taken to a nearby hospital. The driver deemed responsible for the collisions was transported by air to a medical facility for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The sheriff's department did not release information on pending charges against the driver.
The charges this man will most likely face may not be the only consequence derived from his actions. He could also face personal injury lawsuits from those who were injured and wrongful death lawsuits from the families of the men who were killed. Those families in Texas who have lost a loved one in a fatal accident will want a skilled attorney to fight for their rights as they seek justice on behalf of the deceased victim and a monetary judgment for all related financial losses.
