Although it is guaranteed to happen to every person, death is not easy on surviving loved ones. A fatal accident seems even harder to accept when it happens as a result of negligence on the part of another person. A trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety was killed in a recent fatal accident.
The trooper had pulled over to the side of I-35 in the process of stopping a vehicle for a traffic violation. A pickup truck hit the back of the trooper's service vehicle, causing the vehicle to burst into flames. Firefighters responding to the scene were able to put out the fire as well as tend to the injuries of those impacted by the crash.
The pickup rolled before coming to a stop. The driver claimed he did not know what happened. He and his fiancé, also in the truck, complained of chest pains but wanted to stay with the puppy they had with them. The trooper and the driver of another vehicle were taken to a local hospital, where the trooper died. A report on the incident did not list the condition of the other driver.
The death of a family member, especially in a similar horrific circumstance, can generate many feelings, thoughts and questions. Beyond the grief, there may be a need to take action. A wrongful death lawsuit can be filed when the fatal accident occurred because of the negligence of another person. A knowledgeable attorney in Texas will be able to explain to his or her client the details of the plans to pursue financial compensation for their loss.
