Every time people get in a car, whether it is a quick trip to the corner store or several hundred miles away for a vacation, they are risking their lives. In many cities across the nation, there seems to be one fatal accident after another any given day. Texas authorities are continuing their investigation into a fatal accident that killed a 19-year-old female.
It is still not known why the driver of a Ford Mustang lost control of her car in the mid-afternoon collision. The car was traveling east when it suddenly slid into the lane of oncoming traffic and hit a westbound SUV. The 31-year-old driver of the SUV had a 3-year-old passenger in the vehicle with her.
The driver and passenger of the Mustang were taken to one nearby hospital, where the passenger died not long after her arrival. The occupants of the SUV were taken to another medical facility and were listed in stable condition after being treated. The child was released soon after.
During the grief process that follows a fatal accident, it can be difficult to make necessary decisions. In the case of a young person who thinks he or she has a lifetime to make out a will and plan for a funeral, it can be a parent's worst nightmare to take care of such things. Then there is the decision many family members in a similar situation have chosen to pursue, which is that of filing a wrongful death lawsuit for financial compensation. An attorney who knows the applicable laws of the state of Texas will answer any questions a potential client may have.
